Working on this project sharpened my ability to thrive in a cross-cultural setup, helping me embrace diverse points of view. I also had the opportunity to continue serving my local functional responsibilities in India. This project has added immense value to my personal and professional growth.

Joined the Growing Inspiring Female Talents (GIFT) International Program to refine her personal branding, negotiation, and presentation skills. Guided by her mentor, Gurudutta (Country Manager – Malaysia), she worked on a NatCat Insurance project, analyzing challenges and presenting solutions to the CFO. Through the program, Flora developed negotiation skills, an influential leadership style, and the ability to craft compelling business pitches. This experience helped her become a more strategic, confident leader, capable of driving impactful discussions at the leadership level.

Leveraged the GIFT program to build confidence in articulating ideas, handling feedback constructively, and mentoring future leaders. Guided by her mentor, Corsi Alessandro (Head of Actuarial Function, GHO), she played a key role in a cross-functional project aimed at developing an insurance plan for underserved women, conducting in-depth research to identify key protection gaps. One of her biggest takeaways was learning how to turn negative feedback into growth opportunities using the “Even Better If” (EBI) technique. She also introduced an “Appreciation Quarter” initiative within her team to foster a culture of recognition and engagement. Committed to mentorship, she began coaching a team member from another department for six months. Urjha emerged from the program as a more assertive, strategic, and people-focused leader, prepared to take on larger responsibilities within the organization.
